THE UNIQUE COFFEE OF FINCA CAMPO BELLO


La Finca Campo Bello is located within the Colombian Massif nature reserve where Colombia’s major river tributaries run, creating a unique region that produces a coffee with a special flavour and aroma that appeals to discerning palates, such as “la Taza de la Excelencia”, an organization that rewards the best coffee bean producers in Colombia and other Latin American countries. These special conditions have made San Agustín the largest producer of quality coffee in the world. Our coffee has a reputation within the international market as a high quality product, given the environmental conditions existing in the area and the system of management and quality support designed by the producers. Many of these elements combined makes the coffee of San Agustín, Huila unique. La Finca Campo Bello is certified under the signature Rainforest Alliance as a result of our commitment and dedication to coffee production in harmony with the environment. Our farm is also a part of a specialty coffee program acomplished by the hard work of 5 consecutive years of meeting sustainable protocols. In order to obtain this certification and membership in this program our production methods were required to meet 100 criteria established by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a diverse criteria focused on ensuring environmental protection, social equity and economic viability of coffee bean growers.

La finca campo bello se encuentra ubicada dentro del macizo colombiano reserva natural y lugar donde nacen los principales ríos de Colombia lo que la hace única y apta para producir un café de sabor y aroma muy especial ideal para exigentes paladares según la Taza de la Excelencia, organización que se encarga de premiar cada año a los productores del mejor grano en Colombia y en varios países de Latinoamérica. Estas condiciones especiales han convertido a San Agustín como en el mayor productor de café de calidad en el mundo. Nuestro café tiene una merecida reputación en los mercados internacionales por ser un producto de alta calidad, dadas las condiciones ambientales existentes en la zona y al sistema de gestión y respaldo a la calidad que han diseñado los productores. Muchos de estos elementos combinados hacen que el café de San Agustín Huila sea único. La finca campo bello se encuentra certificada bajo la firma Rainforest Alliance como resultado del compromiso y dedicación en la producción de café en armonía con el medio ambiente. Además pertenecemos al programa de cafés especiales logro alcanzado por el arduo trabajo realizado por espacio de 5 años consecutivos en el cumplimiento de protocolos sostenibles. Para obtener esta certificación y pertenecer a este programa tuvimos que cumplir con 100 criterios establecidos por la Red de Agricultura Sostenible, enfocados en asegurar la protección ambiental, la equidad social y la viabilidad económica de los cultivadores del grano.

Coming from the city of Bogota, you should take the Bogota - Neiva route, which is 420 km in distance. From there, travel the Neiva - Pitalito route with a distance of 175 km. From Pilatio it is only 38km to San Agustín. The overland journey takes approximately 10 hours on a fully paved and perfectly defined road. La Finca Campo Bello is located at 5 km, approximately 15 minutes on an unpaved road south of San Agustín within the Huila Department. The elevation of our farm region is 1725 meters and found at the global position of N 01 ◦ 51 '15 "- W 076 ◦ 16 '16.1", with an average temperature of 19 ◦ C. From the market plaza in the city centre you will take a vehicle such as a camionetas to the lowland village of Vereda Llanada de Naranjos where you will find Finca Campo Bello. San Agustin Colombia

At the top of the Magdalena, where the river gets its name, lived a mysterious and enigmatic civilization that utilized special volcanic rock to make art that would come to immortalize their mind`s creation and eternal silence for generations. Classified by UNESCO in 1995 as a world heritage site, the archeological park in San Agustin has been recognized as a Pre-Colombian settlement that flourished from around 600 B.C to around 1200 A.D. Many of the artifacts discovered include, sculptures, Sarcophagi, Monoliths, and many tombs. For tourists and travelers, it`s a great pleasure to walk the weaving and winding paths, through dense forest and open fields to enjoy the archeological wonders.
